My 3 year old Springer has always had a habbit of growling when we sometimes stoke him. If i greet him in the morning he growls while wagging his tail. In fact he can growl and show his teeth at most contact with him and has a stiff body but waggs his tail so happily. We have tried to not encourage this but with out success. Our problem stems from when we have visitors, they view us as having the most aggressive dog ever. I have to say he is loveable and a very obedient dog and has never once attacked us dispite this sometimes aggresive and frightening noise. I would like some advice as to her to try and deal with this issue or other dog owners of this breed who have come across it.
