We recently lost a dear family member. His name was Ike, we got him from someone who found him after Hurricane Ike. When he was alive we had several people tell us he was a bullmastiff or french mastiff but really he only resembled them. I stumbled across a picture of a St. Bermastiff (I didn't even know they existed) and we think that might be what he was. He was THE BEST dog we've ever had and is truely missed. I was hoping to get some opinions as to what others might think he was. We want to get another one like him.

It's so hard to tell with mixed breeds. He almost looks like a boxer mix to me. He's much smaller than any mastiff type though, unless he was a puppy in these photos?

we don't think so, not sure how old he was exactly but our vet said he was prob around 2... we think he might have been thicker under normal circumstances, but he had heartworms that we didn't detect until the damage had been done.
