Hello Everyone! Great board you have here. I've been doing a lot of reading and research on here and thought I should contribute. My wife and I "rescued" a puppy from a hoarder when we were volunteering at a rescue back in November. The woman told us the puppy is 1/2 Neapolitan Mastiff and 1/2 English Mastiff. We saw the parents and it looked correct, but we all know looks can be deceiving. Also, she had a lot of intact Cane Corsos, Great Danes, and other Giant breed dogs roaming the property (rough neighborhood i guess). We adopted the puppy regardless of what he was, but decided to DNA test him just to be sure. Turns out the mom was 1/2 Mastiff and 1/2 St. Bernard and weighed about 180lbs. Dad was a purebreed Neapolitan Mastiff that weighed 200lbs.

We named him "Demo" because he will quite literally demolish everything he runs into full grown. He is a wonderful dog. Very sweet, good natured, and listens well.

Wow. Demo is very handsome! Love the photo idea ... it is amazing how quickly they grow. My Saint is not w 13 months old, and her growth has really slowed down. Best of luck with your pup!
Thanks for the kind words! Yes, they do grow very fast. It seems like just a few days ago we brought home the 12lbs puppy.

I've been comparing his growth with a lot of the other growth charts found here and online and it seems like he was a little behind in the beginning, but now he's a little ahead. I know the person we got him from was feeding all the dogs low end dog food, corn based, etc... So I have a feeling that's why he was on the smaller end. We feed salmon based food, grain free, for all life stages and he does really well on it. He was up to 7-8 cups a day split into 3 meals.

With how fast he's growing we decided to switch him now to 2 meals a day 3-3.5 cups each and he's doing really well with that. It fits our busy schedule better too. Around lunch time he starts looking for food, but we use that as a great opportunity to do some food reward based training. You can see in his pics he still looks pretty lean and healthy so we're not too concerned with the amount he's eating. But, as with all giant breeds i'd rather his growth be slower.
double post
Here he is at 19 Weeks. He now weighs in at 67.2lbs. When he walks you can really see his dewlap. We thought he was gaining too much weight too fast, but vet said he's right on target with no signs of joint or bone issues. He's actually still pretty lean despite his weight. I guess Neo's are very muscular "dense" dogs.
