Just back from the vet....with a clean bill of health.

Found out Thursday that Yogi is extremely allergic to insect stings..

12 weeks - 37.4 lbs

Oh no! I hope he's OK. He's awfully cute with his beagle friend.

He's fine. The area where he got stung got very inflamed and infected He's on an antibiotic and benadryl for 10 days.

That's his buddy, Maggie.

Poor thing. Mine always try to catch bees, and I'm worried about them getting stung. Crazy dogs.

Yogi started learning to swim at the lake this last weekend...
He's not totally sure about the water yet, but at least he didn't sink!

This was a playdate with Reagan:

Yogi has a vet visit coming up on Monday, so we'll get an "official" weight then. And we start puppy obedience next Saturday.

Hey I thought I would let you know that my mastiff "Moxie" is also extremely allergic to stings....and it took her a full 24hrs, to fully react to the sting, her eyes swelled shut, she had huge golf ball size knots all over her face and jowls, and then also got hives all over her body...AND then when I took her to the e-clinic they said she they would give her benadryl and she would get better in about 15 min....yeah right...try a total of two days giving her benadryl....is this anything like what you experienced???

Nothing quite that extreme. The sting swelled up about the size of a golf ball and was quite infected (it was full of nasty stuff). He also had a fever. No hives or other swelling. He took benadryl and an antibiotic for 10 days. The actual sting was much better after the 2nd day (and after draining).

Wow! He is getting big!! I LOVE his coloring! And what a creative name! Did you name him after the baseball player or the cartoon bear? I know a mastiff named Baloo (after the Bear on Jungle Book) and I think that name is so cute! Keep posting pics!

Yep, he's definitely growing. And yea, we're Yankee fans, so that may have been an influence.

17 weeks - 69 lbs

Oh My!! 11 lbs in one week!! That is amazing!! My Hazel is 67 lbs at 20 weeks today! He is going to be a big guy!!
