Our boy Duke was 50 lbs on his 15 week Birthday on Tuesday!

He is hilarious, great personality! He loves grapes now, plays with it for about 5-10 min before finally smushing it and eating it. Big Grin

RE: ~DUKE~
Wow I had no idea, thank goodness this was a one time thing. I have friends and family with small vinyards whos dogs eat grapes all the time, and this had gone on for years! Very scary, thank you for letting me know, I will pass on this info as I would hate for anyone to lose a pet this way.

Why adult food at 17 weeks? Most large/giant breed puppy food have low enough protein amounts I thought?

RE: ~DUKE~
Well after talking with several mastiff owners we have found that actually many people never feed their dogs Eagle Pack puppy formula choosing instead to go straight to the adult formula. I found some including the breeder we got our puppy from that switch at 4-5 months. There are those that still believe that the large and giant breed puppy food will still cause the dog to grow to fast. I decided after finding that Duke was on track with his weight and talking with our breeder and our vet, that it would be best to switch him now. He is a big boy we just dont want him getting too big too fast.

RE: ~DUKE~
We did the same... We switched Yogi to adult food at about 4 1/2 months old.

He is such a great dog!

Here he is in the back yard this morning in the first snowfall of the year.

He caught a snowflake on his eyelash :-)

RE: ~DUKE~
He is too cute. I don't think there is much difference between the giant breed puppy and the giant breed adult foods.

RE: ~DUKE~
So I have updated weights for Duke, he is now 21 weeks old, I cant believe how grown up he looks. Such a handsome boy. We have also added a new addition...Dakoda. Duke just adores her, she had 9 other brothers and just one sister, so she is a fiesty little thing and holds her own to Duke when playing. Duke on the other hand lays down and play with her on the ground letting her crawl all over him, he is so good with her.....they are quite the pair.

Duke's weight to date.

8 weeks 17 lbs
10 weeks 26 lbs
11 weeks 33 lbs
12 weeks 38 lbs
13 weeks 41.4 lbs
14 weeks 47.1 lbs
15 weeks 50.1 lbs
16 weeks 56.7 lbs
17 weeks 60.7 lbs
18 weeks 68.7 lbs
19 weeks 73.5 lbs
20 weeks 79 lbs
21 weeks 84.2 lbs

Dakoda's weight chart:

6 weeks 11.5 lbs
7 weeks 14.5 lbs

RE: ~DUKE~
Your dogs are gorgeous. I'm so amazed at the growth on everyone's growth charts. Ozzie goes to the vet tomorrow for his second puppy shots at 11 weeks. We are hoping he weighs 10 pounds! He really is my teacup mastiff. But he looks good, plays hard, and isn't intimidated by our 82 pound labradoodle. I love everything about his personality, he's showing every sign of being a great dog. Just not a great BIG dog, LOL.
