Hello Everyone,
at the present time I only have a 2 week old pic and a 5 week old pic uploaded to my computer until I get off work today.

but here is the info I know.
5 weeks - 7.5 lbs
7 weeks - 16.5
8 weeks - will find out tonight

his mama is 165 and his papa was a 185 ( breeder is keeping his weight down on purpose)

he is the only one in the litter that has Blue eye's (is this normal?) I think it is very hansome on him!

Rellik is doing very well, he is picking up quickly on the potty training, at 8 weeks he already knows to go to the door! Rellik is also learning how to play nicely with his new big sister Tali.

talk soon
Breed: Old English Mastiff- fawn
DOB: 4/25/10
Sire: 215 (probably 40-50lbs underweight)
Dam: 170
Name: Winston, male
9-15 weeks old: 2-3 cups
16 weeks old: 4 cups

9 weeks: 13.0 lbs
10 weeks: 16.0 lbs
11 weeks: 21.0 lbs
12 weeks: 24.1 lbs
13 weeks: 30.0 lbs
14 weeks: 31.8 lbs
15 weeks: 34.0 lbs
16 weeks: 38.1 lbs

Our new addition, Winston, 4 months old and I'm really worried about his weight. I've tried about 6-7 different foods with meat, chicken and beef au jus, with different kinds of dog foods mixed together, canned food and mixed with kibble, with yogurt, with peanut butter...you name it I think I've tried it to make him eat more. For the last 2 months it's been a real battle. I got him from a horrible breeder and he was probably the runt of the litter (we picked the largest and she switched them!) so I'm thinking that he wasn't use to getting enough food. We have another OE Mastiff, Kylie who is 5 yr old and he does sometimes try to eat her food. But generally, except this week I could only get him to eat 2-3 cups a day. This past week I got him to eat 3-4 cups (with all the added stuff above), but you can still see his ribs and spine. He's not sick, the worms are gone, ear mites are gone, yeast and bacteria infection also in the ears is now gone (like I said--horrible backyard breeder--what I mistake that was!). We are hand feeding him and he will only eat a few handfuls at a time. Just doesn't seem to be too interested, he'd rather play or sleep. I've asked several mastiff breeders and all seem to use a different food. Anyway, keep your fingers crossed that he'll start to gain more weight. In the last 3 weeks he only gained about 4 lbs. Any one with success on a great dog food please let me know. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

When I found this site I thought this looked like a lot of fun and a great place to observe and learn. I am all for learning as much as possible.
Like someone else said, Why have a masiff when you can have two?
So I have two mastiff puppies. One male and one female; they are as different as day and night. I only intended to get one (long story).

Aurora - female D.O.B. Feb. 20, 2010
12 wks. - 28lbs
14 wks. - 34lbs
16 wks. - 40lbs
19 wks. - 48lbs
20 wks. - 50lbs.
dam is 28" and 160lbs. sire is 35" and 245lbs.

Asa - Male D.O.B. March 5, 2010
12 wks. - 25lbs.
14wks. - 37lbs.
4 months - 55lbs.
18 wks. - 60lbs.
dam is 32" and 175lbs. sire is 36" and 250lbs.

Both puppies are raw fed.
Aurora's parents have been raw fed for less than a year. Dam was raw fed throughout pregnancy and nursing the pups but the pups were not started on raw. Aurora was fed Iam kibble for the first 12wks. Aurora eats 3lbs of chicken including bones and organs each day; split into three meals.

Asa's parents were fed commerical kibble. Asa started on raw food at 3 months. Asa eats 5lbs of chicken including bones and organs each day split into three meals.

The first week I had the puppies the received 4oz. of raw colostrum mixed in with two raw eggs each day to help reduce stress and build their immune sysytem.
They receive no other supplements.
Both puppies are vaccine free and live in a chemical free environment.

They seem to be growing much slower than most of the puppies on the list. It will be interesting to see the end result.

These are my first mastiff puppies. I have had Great Pryenees and Bernese Mtn. Dogs. I also have a Pryenean Mastiff (5yrs. old). I have fostered/rescued several mastiffs over the years. But these are the first mastiffs I have gone out and acquired to make part of the family.

I would enjoy hearing questions and comments.

I have a 5 month old mix born February 4, 2010. Last week she weighed 56 lbs and although she was not the runt out of a litter of 12, her brother and sister who I've been in touch with the owners, are 13 and 15 lbs heavier. I am feeding her California Natural Lamb and Rice plus vegetables, rice and hamburger or chicken or tuna added to her meal. Vet says she is a good size and I've been warned about being careful of how fast she gains weight for her sake. She weighed 19lbs at 9 weeks when we got her and has steadily gained on average 3 lbs per week. She is a wonderful and smart puppy and very quick to learn. I was happy to find this site since I've been trying to gage how big she will be...her mom as 170lbs st bernard and dad was 200 lbs english mastiff...she looks mastiff with the st bernard face.

Hello Everyone/Anyone Reading this...

My boy Optimus is 4 months, one week old (English Mastiff). Every time his hips come up he gets very stiff which I think is normal (?), and he slows down for a couple days then he is fine again. The reason for my worry is that yesterday he started getting sore & almost limping then today he is REALLY stiff, like takes him longer than normal to stand up and you can see him adjust & re-adjust himself before he stands up. I'm just wondering if this is normal for them? He did seem to grow LOTS this spurt so am I being a paranoid mom or is this normal???
I'm no vet, but I am a paramedic so I feel semi qualified in checking for abnormalities and I assessed his hips legs and everything and they feel equal & like nothing is out of place, and he did not seem to be in any pain anywhere I was pressing or touching... Thanks for any input!!!
